If you have excess fat on your hips, abdomen, belly or legs that you cannot get rid of despite all kinds of efforts, liposuction is the definitive and permanent solution you are looking for. The word liposuction means fat suction. In medicine, the suction of excess fat by inserting a cannula into the fat tissue through a small hole in the skin is known as liposuction surgery. Liposuction surgery, lipoplasty, liposculpture, liposculpture, liposculpting, liposhaping, suction lipectomy, etc. are the most promoted surgeries as a different method or a much newer technique. Whatever it is called, the procedure applied in all of them is the same procedure.

Liposuction allows you to remove excess fat from your body that you cannot get rid of despite applying methods such as diet and sports. Stubborn fats, which we often see in the hip, leg and hip areas in women, accumulate more in the belly and waist area in men. Patients who try many ways to get rid of excess fat finally find the solution with liposuction surgery. Liposuction offers a permanent, definitive solution to people with similar problems. However, it is not a valid method for people who want to lose weight. Diet and sports are done to lose weight. It is applied not to remove fat accumulated all over the body in fat people, but to remove fat accumulated in certain parts of the body in people who are not considered fat. In short, liposuction is a definite, permanent method to get rid of regional excess fat. Slimming is not applied for weight loss.

From which areas can fat be removed?

Fat can be removed from anywhere on the body where there are regional accumulations. It is frequently applied to the abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, hips, leg area in women; belly and waist area in men. Apart from these areas, fat can also be removed from the double chin, under the chin, the back of the arms, and certain parts of the back.

How is liposuction performed?

Before starting the liposuction procedure, special solutions that reduce bleeding are injected into the area where the fat will be removed. A short period of time is waited for the injected solution to take effect. Then, thin cannulas are inserted into the adipose tissue through 2-3 mm holes opened on the skin and the fat is removed by vacuum suction. The procedure is terminated when the fat in the whole area is sufficiently removed. The small holes opened on the skin are closed with a hidden suture. A tight corset is worn to cover the liposuction area.

Why wear a corset after liposuction?

When the excess fat is removed, gaps are formed where the fat is removed. In order for the skin to sit on the floor again and for these gaps to fuse, a pressurizing effect must be created from the outside. The corset creates this effect. The corset should be worn continuously for the 3-4 weeks required for the area where the fat under the skin is removed to fuse. You can remove your corset for a short time to take a bath or wash your corset.

Liposuction surgery

The surgery is performed under hospital conditions with appropriate equipment. The appropriate anesthesia method is selected based on the width of the area to be removed. If fat is to be removed from areas that are not very large, it can be applied under local anesthesia. General anesthesia is required for liposuction applied to a large area. The duration of the procedure varies according to the amount of fat to be removed.

After liposuction surgery

You will not experience much pain after the surgery. Since I also add special painkillers into the solution injected to reduce the amount of bleeding before the procedure, there is not much postoperative pain in the area where the fat is removed. This also allows you to stand up shortly after the operation and speeds up your return to your normal life. You will survive the recovery period on your feet with mild pain. You can return to work and travel 2-3 days after the operation. Again 2-3 days later, you can take off your corset and take a bath. Swelling will occur in the area where the fat is removed due to the effect of the surgery. Because of the swelling, you may feel as if your fat has never been removed, but as the swelling goes down in a few weeks, you will realize that you have gotten rid of your fat. Since there may be thin thin bleeding in the tissues in the area where the fat is removed, it appears bruised when viewed from the outside. These bruises will disappear within 7-10 days. After the fat is removed, you will need a longer time such as 3-5 months for the swelling to go down and the shape of that area to settle and take its final form.
The excess fat that you think you will never get rid of will disappear from your body permanently with liposuction surgery, and you will feel lighter and thinner.
