What is Botox?
Botulinum Toxin is an injectable treatment commonly used in the forehead, glabella, and crows feet area to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox has been FDA approved since 2002, and has been successfully used by millions of patients in the United States.
When low doses of BOTOX are used, it selectively weakens or relaxes facial muscles, giving the recipient a clean, smooth facial appearance.
Wrinkles form when you repeatedly contract a muscle, like the ones in your forehead and around your eyes. Botox works by targeting specific facial muscles to decrease contraction and stop skin wrinkling.
Areas Treated with BOTOX
BOTOX can be used on virtually any area of the body. Areas that are commonly treated include:
- Eyebrows
- Forehead
- Eyelids
- Lips
- Neck
- Jawline
- Breast areola after breast surgery.
BOTOX is also commonly used under the arms for excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis) and also for treatment of Migrain.
BOTOX Cosmetic Procedure:
Done in our clinic, the treatment takes only a few minutes. Botox is injected into pre-targeted areas – using a very fine needle. Patients experience little to no discomfort and no recovery time is needed. A minimal amount of bruising and swelling is normal and it may or may not occur, but resolves quickly.
